Police suspect cattle prod used in attack on 12-year-old

A MAN charged with the torture and severe bashing of his 12-year-old stepson is due to appear in court tomorrow morning.

The matter was briefly heard in the Warwick Magistrates Court yesterday morning but the man did not appear in person.

He remains in police custody, where he has been since he was arrested on Tuesday. The man did not apply for bail yesterday but it is expected he will make an application during his court appearance tomorrow morning.

He is charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, four counts of assault occasioning bodily harm while armed or in company and one count of torture.
