Still no answer to mystery Quinton scratchings
SYDNEY trainer Ron Quinton has confirmed he won't have any runners this week as the mystery as to why his horses were scratched last Saturday continues.
Quinton had four horses across NSW scratched from races last Saturday on the Friday afternoon, while he did not accept with any of the four horses he nominated for races at Hawkesbury on Thursday.
Racing NSW stewards are not commenting on the matter, but Quinton told the Daily Telegraph on Tuesday he won't have any runners this week.
"I won't be running any horses this week and we are just waiting on some tests to come back and that's all we know at the moment,” Quinton said.
"I can't say any more because I don't know any more.”
Asked whether his horses scratched on Saturday were done so by stewards or by himself, Quinton said it was "a combination”.
Racing NSW chief steward Marc Van Gestel would not comment on the matter on Tuesday.
Quinton trialled six horses at Randwick on Monday.
