Stockland to host a Hats For Harry Mimi day

STOCKLAND Rockhampton will host a #hatsforharry day on Friday to commemorate the colourful town character, and renowned hat-wearer, who passed away on last night from cancer

The community is encouraged to take a "selfie" or get a group of friends or co-workers together and take a photo wearing a hat, and upload it to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #hatsforharry.

Kate Baines from OPSM in the Stockland Centre organised the day, and said they wanted to find a way to thank Harry for all the "good times".

"We received the heart breaking news today that our local hero Harry Mimi has lost his battle with cancer," she said.

"Harry has touched the lives of so many people in our community with his kind heart, infectious laugh and who could forget all of his amazing hats?

"In honour of his memory let's show our support for his family by wearing a hat for harry this Friday the 11th December."
