Stolen car dumped in dam

POLICE are investigating a stolen car that was dumped in a dam on a private property east of Rockhampton.

Emergency services were called to the Mt Chalmers' property at 6pm on Friday after receiving a report that bubbles were rising to the surface of the dam - indicating something was sinking.

A QFRS swift water rescue team was called by police to ensure no one was drowning.

Police said no one was found in the vehicle.

A tow truck was used to remove the car from the dam.
