Storms could dump heavy falls on CQ

STORMS are expected to dump heavy rain on parts of Central Queensland this afternoon, the Bureau of Meteorology says.

The bureau says a line of storms is spread across the Central Queensland coastline from the Town of 1770, south of Gladstone, to Shoalwater Bay, north of Yeppoon, and inland about 100km.

Heavy falls are expected this afternoon and wet weather should continue until Christmas day and over the weekend.

A bureau forecaster said afternoon showers were likely for the next few days.
