Struggling on 30 years after Uluru handover

LITTLE has changed in the indigenous community near Uluru in central Australia, 30 years on from the handback of the land to traditional owners.   A ceremony was held at the weekend to mark the occasion, but Indigenous Affairs Minister Nigel Scullion said the rock "looks the same, and tragically, so does Mutitjulu".   Labor Senator Nova Peris similarly said some 400 people living there were still struggling to make a living, despite the million-dollar resort only a short drive away.   Reggie Uluru (right) holds a framed photograph of himself at the original handback in 1985.
