Students given a career step up at expo today

YOUNG people looking to get a step up in their careers will have the chance today, with an event in Rockhampton giving students the opportunity to network with business people who can help put them on the right track.

C2C, which stands for Communication to Careers, gives students the opportunity to network with these business owners, ask them questions and make local contacts, all while building their communication skills.

This may include interview skills, resume tips, career and education guidance and advice on what to do once leaving school. It will also help prepare students to enter the workplace.

C2C hosts a number of events throughout the year for different schools, and today's is for students at Girls Grammar.

C2C is supported by professionals from a range of industries, including hospitality, emergency services, finance, engineering, sales, childcare and administration.

C2C is an initiative of the Rockhampton Innovative Networking Group.

Today's event is being held at the CQUniversity Sports Centre from 9.45am to 11.45am.
