Sue wants to help autism program and raise funds
RAISING a son who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum disorder has been made easier for Yeppoon mother Sue Nunn thanks to Autism Queensland CQ Centre and Sue plans to show her appreciation by raising funds to help.
Sue said the assistance she had received from the centre had been vital for Brodie's development and she was keen to do something to assist the centre.
"Without the program the transition to school would be very difficult.
"After our initial coming to terms with the diagnosis we have steered our way through different early intervention therapies to give our son Brodie the best possible support," Sue said.
"He now attends a program at Autism QLD and is making positive headway.
"Sue said she recognised how vital the program had been for her son.The centre provides a program for specifically autism-based therapies that include onsite speech pathologists, occupation therapy, early childhood teachers as well as support for parents and families.
It also provides an outreach program and travels to visit families as far west as Emerald.Sue is holding a Grazing Lunch fundraiser which will include canapé style food, served throughout the day, full bar, operating, refreshment on arrival, raffles, fashion parade and entertainment by Motherlove.
