Suns re-sign gun youngster for two more years

AFL: Gold Coast midfielder Touk Miller has signed a new two-year contract that will tie him to the club until the end of 2019.

It follows a stunning first two years of AFL for Miller, who has become a bona fide midfielder after impressing during the club's recent injury problems.

The 20-year-old was voted into the Suns leadership group for 2017 by his peers last month and has been labelled a potential future skipper by current co-captain Steven May.

"In my eyes, there was no other place I wanted to be other than at the Gold Coast Suns," Miller said.

"As a playing group, we have completed a mountain of work this pre-season, and strongly believe we are in for an exciting 2017.

"We believe our time to rise is now and we want everyone on the Gold Coast to join us in 2017 to help the club write our next chapter."

After top-line midfielders Jaeger O'Meara and Dion Prestia left the club in last year's trade period, the Suns have announced a series of re-signings including David Swallow, Peter Wright and Callum Ah Chee.
