Support Schoolkids Bonus, Labor candidate tells Abbott

AS Kirsten Livermore prepares to step down as the member for Capricornia, Labor's candidate for the 2013 election, Peter Freeleagus, challenged Tony Abbott to match budget commitments for the Bruce Hwy and the Schoolkids Bonus.

"Now that the budget has been released there is only one question - will the LNP match Labor's $4.1 billion commitment to the Bruce Highway?" he said yesterday.

He said Labor would continue to provide almost $9 million to 8650 families in Capricornia through the Schoolkids Bonus towards schooling costs.

"The challenge I issue to Tony Abbott is to match Labor's Schoolkids Bonus."
