WHEN The Three Busketeers found out they were nominated for Young Citizen of the Year they couldn't believe their ears.

Bradley Entermann, and Hudsonand Jackson, Lucas who make up the local musical trio said it was an honour to be recognised for something that just came natural to them, helping others.

The boys aged 8-12 were nominated for their extraordinary contributions to society by a council officer in charge of distributing busking permits.

The harmonic kids attribute their helpful natures to their families who have always encouraged them to look outside themselves and be givers rather than takers.

Robyn Entermann, mother of Bradley said she sometimes forgot the kids were still so young, despite their maturity.

"We want them to look where there is a need and fill it," Ms Entermann said.

The boys have helped raise much needed funds for a range of people in need.

But it was their determination to help the people affected by the Grantham flood that gained the most attention.
