Sweet time at schoolies' week

IT has all been good clean fun for the school leavers taking part in Schoolies events in Yeppoon - and the organisers coulnd’t be happier.

Schoolies organiser Sergeant Greg Jones said 158 schoolies had registered on Sunday and he expected similar numbers to have enrolled yesterday.

While he estimated around 98 percent of the schoolies were locals from the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region there were some registering from Mackay areas and the Sunshine Coast.

Sergeant Jones said parents would find comfort in their children attending the low key event in Yeppoon where they were all being very well behaved.

“It is smaller, it is just not the full on thing like at the Gold Coast,” Sergeant Jones said.
