Inaugural Tarts and Trivia Night at Alton Downs this Friday

YOUNG and old will be battling it out for trivia championship status at the inaugural Tarts and Trivia Night to be held at the Alton Downs Hall on Friday, June 19, from 7.30pm.

With questions ranging from popular music and TV shows to Rockhampton's history and quirky facts about the local area, trivia buffs are invited to come out to the well-loved and beautifully appointed Alton Downs Hall, on the corner of Nicholson Rd and Ridgelands Rd at Alton Downs, to challenge other trivia enthusiasts in a relaxed evening of fun.

Quiz master and Alton Downs local John Reeve will be compering the evening, which will be raising funds for the ongoing preservation of the hall.

The president of the Alton Downs Hall Committee, Tom Hoare, said each team of eight to 10 people was invited to bring a sweet or savoury tart to share, with a scrumptious light supper held during the evening.

"This is a great opportunity for people new in the community to meet neighbours and everyone is welcome," Tom said.

"The evening will feature games and raffles to help raise funds for ongoing maintenance projects of the hall."

The winning team will receive a $100 voucher to share at The Lionleigh. The Lionleigh won the prestigious Capricornia Hospitality Business of the Year in 2013 and is at 1 Wandal Rd, Wandal.

Cost is $5 per person. Bookings on 4934 5120.

If you have anything you would like to share (weddings, babies, anniversaries, obituaries, events, fundraisers and more) send your story and photo to life@capnews.com.au
