Target's website crashed by Missoni fashionistas
TARGET has been a victim of its own success, its website crushed by the overwhelming demand for its collaboration with Italian fashion house Missoni.
The range is available online and at 61 of Target's stores, but once unveiled, the rush crashed the store.
According to the Target's Facebook page:
"We had an unprecedented demand for our Missoni for Target Collection.
"Thousands of customers rushed to shop the full range online and we are getting reports that some customers are having difficulties accessing the site.
"Please be patient and check back in a few minutes."
The range was priced between $10 and $129, with the odd piece fetching $169.
To put that price into perspective, online fashion house Net-A-Porter charges more than US$2000 for a Missoni maxi dress and more than US$600 for a Missoni sweater.
Stores stocking the range include Maroochydore, Toowoomba, Brisbane City, Chermside and Indooroopilly.
We're sorry to customers who can't access our website due to huge demand for Missoni range. Working to resolve issues, will keep you updated— Target Australia (@Targetaus) October 8, 2014
