Taroom meeting led to 50 years together

BEVERLEY May Martin and Cecil Vincent Holder (Vince), who first met in Taroom, were married at St Luke's Church, Toowoomba, on September 12, 1959.

Their bridal attendants included brother and sister, best man Leon Misfeld and chief bridesmaid Ena Misfeld, while the junior bridesmaid and flowergirl were the bride's sisters, Charmaine and Dianne Martin.

The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with close friends and family at the Thai Thanee restaurant, North Rockhampton.

To make their golden anniversary even more special Beverley and Vince arrived at the restaurant in style in a limousine driven by their daughter-in-law, June.

The couple are very proud of their three children and their families, Janine Holder, Grant and Carol Holder and Bryant and June Holder, and their seven lovely grandchildren.

Beverley's mother, Jean Martin, had been looking forward to celebrating her daughter's 50th wedding anniversary in September, but died in July at the age of 92. She was, however, very much there in spirit.
