Teen headbutted passing girl in Rocky CBD for no reason
A TEENAGER has admitted headbutting a girl he didn't even know while walking through the Rockhampton CBD while drunk.
Gem Jimmy Milton Gigiba-Walit pleaded guilty on Friday in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court to one charge of common assault.
Police prosecutor Constable Manon Barwick said Gigiba-Walit was walking along Quay St towards East St earlier this year when the girl and her boyfriend passed him in the street.
Cst Barwick said Gigiba-Walit headbutted the girl, stood back and then gestured to her.
Her boyfriend was allegedly so upset he punched a window of a nearby building.
Cst Barwick said Gigiba-Walit was so intoxicated he did not know if he had headbutted a male or a female.
Gigiba-Walit's defence lawyer said the couple had earlier walked past Gigiba-Walit "briskly, almost knocking him over".
He had no criminal history of a similar nature.
He was put on probation for eight months and ordered to pay $350 in compensation, with no conviction recorded.
Magistrate Bronwyn Springer said if he had the money to get drunk, he had the money to pay compensation.
