ARE Cameron Johnson and Lauren Moss Rockhampton's fittest couple?

We'll probably have more of an idea later today.

The fitness fanatics are taking part in the inaugural CrossFit Rockhampton event at The Cathedral College.

The event will see 46 couples from across the region test their strength in a range of physical activities including weight lifting, sit-ups and chin-ups.

Live Video of the action here. There are four videos to watch, with an advertisement in between each.

CrossFit is a fast-growing exercise craze focusing on all areas of fitness including cardio and strength.

Event organiser and CrossFit Rockhampton owner Naseeb Jeha said he was happy with the support he had received for the event and would definitely be holding more in the future.

"CrossFit's a community as well as an exercise program," he said.

"Everybody's super keen to train and get to know each other."

This aspect also appealed to Cameron, who said the event and team environment were good incentives when training.

"It makes more of a sport out of it rather than just going to the gym," he said.

Ms Moss said she enjoyed CrossFit because it was more exciting than just jumping on a treadmill.

"It's different, fun, and challenging," she said. "It's not like your normal gym."

Ms Moss also said training together was fun, with the couple motivating one another.
