Man in court over allegedly importing 10kg of heroin
A 24-YEAR-old Thai man, charged with allegedly importing 10kg of heroin in suitcases, appeared in Sydney Local Court on Monday.
The man was arrested at Sydney Airport on Sunday after Customs officers selected him for a full baggage examination.
Officers unpacked the man's two suitcases and x-rayed them, noticing they were unusually heavy.
The x-rays revealed a possible concealment in the suitcases, and after investigations, officers found a white powder.
Test confirmed the powder was heroin and the matter was referred to the Australian Federal Police, who charged the man with importing a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug.
