Hugo Boss is coming to Rocky

THE Boss is coming to town.

Full of class and a first for Central Queensland’s high-end fashion market – designer label Hugo Boss will be the newest addition to the Rockhampton CBD at Mark Bunt’s Menswear from May this year.

But getting his hands on the world-renowned range wasn’t easy for a very committed Mark Bunt.

Two years ago Mark got in contact with the suppliers of Hugo Boss in a bid to add the sought-after label, which originated in Germany, to his current line of threads like Ralf Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Lacoste.

Mark said there were strict and professional criteria he had to meet in order to stock Hugo Boss – the biggest label worldwide – including specific store standards, credibility and particular existing labels.

Having secured the renowned brand, 12 months ago Mark ventured to the Hugo Boss showroom in Melbourne for a buying trip and made an order for this year.

The first drop of Boss would include top-of-the-range suits, business shirts, ties, belts and shoes.

The rest of the range would follow. These included Boss black, incorporating night-scene wear; green, which is a range of casual attire; orange, for those guys wanting stretch jeans and the more funky out-there gear, and sport, which boldly displays the Hugo Boss logo.

Mark said the day buying trip to Melbourne was an experience unlike any other.

“It was so professional. We even had our own chef in the showroom,” he said.

The full range would vary in cost from a $60 polo shirt right through to top-of-the-range business suits for $1200.

“I want to raise the standard in Rockhampton and we can’t wait to see Hugo Boss hit the shelves.”

With the closest suppliers of Boss in Townsville and Brisbane, Mark Bunt Menswear would be the first business in Central Queensland to stock the label.

Hugo Boss has five showrooms around the world, including Australia, New York and Germany.
