The hunt for the best beef recipes in the country is on
ARE you a young chef or apprentice who loves cooking beef? Beef Australia 2018 has put the call out for young chefs or apprentices to nominate for its Young Chef Ambassador Competition as entries have now opened.
Celebrity chef co-ordinator Shane Bailey said the competition would give one lucky young chef the chance to cook alongside famous foodies like Curtis Stone and Matt Golinski at the PwC Celebrity Chef Restaurant.
"They will also experience all the fun and excitement of the event alongside our celebrity chefs, cooking the best beef in the world,” he said.
To enter the competition, Beef Australia is looking for exceptional talent, innovative skills and creativity in the recipes put forward. These recipes must use secondary cuts, while showcasing Australian beef. Young chefs and apprentices are encouraged to send in their original recipes to be considered for the competition. Judges will then recreate these recipes and judge based on the flavours, style and creativity.
Beef Australia catering and functions co-ordinator Kelly-Rae Smith said Unox had donated the prize of a Combi oven valued at $1700 to the restaurant of the winning chef. Beef Australia 2018 will be held in Rockhampton between May 6-12. Visit www.beefaustralia.com.au for details and to enter.
