The mayor who won with 76 votes

CHRISTOPER Paul Adams is the man who won the office of mayor with only 76 votes.

Cr Adams is the new Woorabinda Mayor after winning the weekend election to find a new leader for the Aboriginal community, west of Rockhampton.

Cr Adams, who takes over from former mayor Roderick Tobane, polled 11 votes ahead of Steven Raymond Kemp, who came second among the five candidates.

It has been a busy start for the new mayor, who hasn’t returned The Morning Bulletin’s calls during the past couple of days.
