The ‘Merc’ Thirsty for Beef 2015 gig
YOU'LL find more than just cattle and dust at the Rockhampton Showgrounds next week for Beef Australia 2015, with an exciting line-up of performances over the six-day event.
One of Australia's finest live acts, Thirsty Merc will headline the live entertainment on Thursday night next week, with supports acts Caitlyn Shadbolt and Mick Lindsay.
And there is a hilarious mix of local and celebrity comedians in store at the famous Great Debate on Wednesday, May 8, including one of Australia's most celebrated stand-up comedians, Lawrence Mooney.
It has been one of the most popular items on the Beef Australia program and this year the two opposing teams tackle the topic of "Life on the land is full of romance and desire".
Aussie pop-rock stalwarts Thirsty Merc announced the release of their fourth studio full-length album - their first in four years - last September 5, which was complemented by a national tour.
Their last visit to the Beef Capital was in 2010.
They have sold more than 200,000 albums, scored a #1 iTunes single with 20 Good Reasons and been nominated for a handful of ARIA and APRA awards.
At 19, Caitlyn Shadbolt is already collecting accolades as a country music singer on national stages, including a top five finish in The X Factor. Her angelic voice, song-writing prowess and infectious enthusiasm make a perfect package.
Mick Lindsay released his debut self-titled album in 2014, which peaked at #3 on the Australian iTunes country music charts, topped only by Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts.
With a thirst for up-tempo numbers, he infuses every song with his own distinctive flavour.
