Theft, wilful damage, break and enters in crime wave

BRAZEN thieves have allegedly stolen a 60-litre Engel fridge from the back of a ute in a Blackwater mine.

Between February 9 and 10, the fridge was taken from a Banksia Camp vehicle at Blackwater's Curragh Mine.

Investigations are continuing and police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

This incident is among a string of crimes to occur in the mine town in the last week.

  • On February 9, it is alleged a break and enter occurred at a business on Evans Street, Blackwater. As a result of information from the public and police investigations, a 14-year-old male has been charged with one count of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence.
  • Between February 9 and February 10, it is alleged that a 60-litre Engel Fridge was stolen from the back of a utility vehicle at Banksia Camp, Curragh Mine Blackwater. Further investigations are continuing. Police are appealing to anyone with information in relation to this matter to contact Crime Stoppers quote reference number QP1700252691.
  • On February 11, it is alleged that two windows were damaged at an address on Oliffe Street, Blackwater. Police have charged 25-year-old male person with one count of public nuisance and one count of wilful damage. He will be required to appear in Blackwater Magistrates Court on February 17 in relation to these offences.
  • Between February 12 and February 13, it is alleged that a break and enter occurred at an address on Quandong Street, Blackwater. Further investigations are continuing. Police are appealing to anyone with information in relation to this matter to contact Crime Stoppers and quote reference number QP1700271865.
  • Between February 10 and February 13, it is alleged that an attempted break and enter occurred at a business located on Williams Street, Blackwater. Further investigations are continuing. Police are appealing to anyone with information in relation to this matter to contact Crime Stoppers quote reference number QP1700272537.
  • On February 14 it is alleged that a 28-year-old female was intercepted driving a vehicle on the Capricorn Highway, Blackwater with a suspended drivers licence. She has been charged and will appear in Blackwater Magistrates Court at a later date in relation to this offence.
  • On February 15 it is alleged that an attempted break and enter occurred at an address on Bredhauer Street, Blackwater. Further investigations are continuing. Police are appealing to anyone with information in relation to this matter to contact Crime Stoppers and quote reference number QP1700289304.
  • On January 22 it is alleged that a 15-year-old male person was located by police in possession of property suspected of being stolen. As a result of police investigations the teenager has been charged with one count of stealing.
