Thieves get away with empty shells from pistol range

OPPORTUNISTIC thieves have stolen empty shell casings and fuel in separate incidents so far this month.

Unknown offender /s have siphoned 336L of fuel from two vehicles at a work site on Capricorn Highway, Gracemere between June 10 and June 12.

Unknown offender / s have removed a 54 litre and 20 litre bucket of empty 22 - 40 calibre shell casings from an undercover area at the Rockhampton Sporting Shooting Association pistol range on Tookers Road, Cawarral, between June 4 and June 7.

Offenders have also removed empty shell casings from a third drum leaving it behind.

Police urge all residents to be vigilant with the security of their property. By ensuring homes and vehicles are locked and property secured it will decrease the likelihood of becoming a victim of an opportunist crime.

Police encourage members of the public to report any suspicious behaviour.
