Lanes clear on bridge following crash

UPDATE 2.00pm: Police media reveal that the accident on the Old Bridge earlier this morning only involved two vehicles, not the reported three. 

It was believed a third car had caused damage to the front of the vehicle but police media said it had not. 

"The two people involved cleared up the matter themselves, it was not a reportable incident," the spokesperson said.    "There were no injuries to either driver just damage to the vehicles."   The spokesperson said no one was hurt in the incident and the matter was swiftly cleaned up by crews on scene.   

UPDATE 9.50am: Traffic is clear on the Fitzroy Bridge as the tow trucks start to tow the cars involved in the incident. 

 

UPDATE 9.30am: THE third driver involved in a car accident on the Fitzroy Bridge could have done a runner on police.

While the two back cars remained at the scene, the third and front car's location is a mystery. 

Around 9am the front car braked early and the second, a maroon Mazda Prestige, was backed into by a black Mazda cx-s. 

It is unknown if anyone is injured at this time. 

 

UPDATE 9.15am: Authorities have confirmed Queensland Fire and Rescue are on their way to the scene as there is fluid on the road as a result of the crash. 

 

9am: EMERGENCY crews are on their way to a three vehicle crash on the old bridge, Fitzroy St. 

Initial reports suggest the the third car was hit from behind. 

Police are on their way to assess the traffic congestion.
