Three new faces in Swans' side for AFL curtain-raiser

AUSSIE RULES: Three players will debut for the Yeppoon Swans when they line up for the curtain-raiser to the AFL clash between the Gold Coast Suns and Essendon in Mackay tomorrow.

The Swans, the reigning AFL Capricornia champions, will take on the AFL Mackay premiers, the Mackay City Hawks, in the inaugural AFLQ Central Queensland Cup at 1pm at Harrup Park.

The main game kicks off at 3.40pm.

Swans' coach Mark Wallin has named a 24-man squad, which includes debutantes Daniel Moloney from Victoria, Cam Mackay from Hervey Bay and former Glenmore Bulls player Isaac Kielly.

"We're looking pretty good. We're not at full strength but we are taking a reasonably good side up,” Wallin said.

"I've been trying to impress on the boys that this is more than just a practice match. We want to win it and earn some respect and credibility for the league itself.

"They've got their fair share of good footballers so it should be a pretty good contest.”
