LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Time to crack down on driving offences

WHAT is going on with people in this region?

On Monday, 9/6/15, after a weekend where three serious road accident crashes occurred resulting in two fatalities, there is a report on The Morning Bulletin website of a four-car crash on Musgrave Street.

I have seen people still breaking traffic laws, speeding in roadworks on Glenmore Rd, and I found out that on the weekend a motorist trying to avoid delay at a traffic light tries to cut through a service station, wipes out the diesel pumps and drives off.

It appears that the authorities are once again wondering what to do.

I think it is time that a heavy-handed crackdown happens in this region for poor driving, and that the fines are reviewed to reflect the seriousness of the offence, starting with inattention and texting on mobile phones.
