Tin Can Bay remains identified as Gold Coast man

POLICE have confirmed remains found at Tin Can Bay in mid April this year have been identified as missing Gold Coast man Shaun Barker.

Mr Barker was reported missing by his family on January 14 after last being seen at a service station at Broadbeach on December 10, police said.

A skull was found by forestry workers off Cooloola Coast Rd on April 10 which, police said, was forensically examined and identified as that of Mr Barker.

Detectives are eager to hear from any members of the public who have knowledge of Mr Barker's movements particularly on the days leading up to December 10 last year and after that date.

Of particular interest to police is Mr Barker's Blue Kia Rio with Queensland Registration 518 TBV, which is yet to be located.
