Today was our hottest this year

YOU probably already know but just to make it official: the Bureau of Meteorology has confirmed today has been the hottest all year for Rockhampton.

Around 3pm, the mercury peaked at 38.3C.

It has put a red hot close for this warmer-than-normal November.

The average maximum temperature this month has been about 32.9C, a couple of degrees hotter than the long-term average.

Tomorrow is expected to be much of the same - but there's hope some possible showers or storms could cool temperatures.

The hot temperature today was only 0.1 degrees warmer than the previous hottest day for 2009.
