Toddler allegedly murdered by parents was 'unwanted'

A TODDLER who prosecutors allege was murdered by his parents a decade ago was described as "evil" by his father and "the little c---" by his mother, a court has heard.

In the Supreme Court in Brisbane this afternoon, Justice Sue Brown read from prosecution evidence in which a relative of the couple has told police that Shane Arthur Simpson, 49, father of 22-month-old Baden Bond, said the boy was evil.

Justice Brown said the comment was alleged to have been made after the relative of Baden's unemployed mother Dina Colleen Bond, 43, told Bond and Simpson to "take care of" Baden.

The relative had bathed him upon discovering him in a cot and covered in urine and faeces at their Woodridge home in 2007, the court was told.

Witnesses told police the home was squalid and they had seen Baden with injuries.
