Tom Wyatt fully supports foreshore as tourism "drawcard"

Tom Wyatt

I fully support the ongoing Yeppoon Foreshore Development which will be a major tourism drawcard for the region.

The much-anticipated Zero Depth Water Play Feature will be incredibly popular and construction on the exciting further stages of the development is due to begin in the New Year.

This term of council has seen significant achievements across the region. As the portfolio Councillor for Sport and Recreation, there are some that I am particularly proud of, including the ongoing development of the Barmaryee Multi Sports Precinct and the installation of disabled facilities at the Emu Park Pool.

As well we've seen playgrounds erected and construction of the Emu Park Men's Shed.

In my opinion, the most significant project in this term has been the development of the Centenary of Anzac Project at Emu Park.

This was made possible by the hard work of the committee and enthusiasm of our Mayor who raised the majority of the funding from business and all levels of government.

Small businesses in Emu Park have indicated that trade has improved by around 20% since the opening of this project.
