Toowoomba bakery earns special visit from Morcombe family

A TOOWOOMBA bakery has earned a special visit from the parents of Daniel Morcombe, ahead of Day for Daniel on Friday.

Bruce and Denise Morcombe, who founded the Daniel Morcombe Foundation in 2005, dropped into O'Donnell's Bakehouse in Wilsonton Heights yesterday for lunch, much to the delight of the staff.

"They just dropped in for lunch - one of the ladies said they were at the Sacred Heart Primary School running a child safety session," owner Robyn O'Donnell said.

"We asked for a photo and they were happy to be in it."

Day for Daniel, which is in its 13th year, was established following the abduction and death of the 13-year-old Sunshine Coast boy in 2003.

Brett Peter Cowen was convicted of his murder in 2014 and sentenced to life in prison.
