WHEN the whole world mourned the death of Adam West, the original Batman in the 1960s television series, so did some of Toowoomba's biggest fans.
Shaun and Stuart Blackburn, who together with their dad Craig and brother Cameron built the 1989 model Batmobile, were among the many who paid their respects.
"People loved the way Batman made them feel," Shaun Blackburn said.
"He was someone who could do good without having any superpowers."
Stuart Blackburn said bringing the Batmobile to events was probably the closest fans would get to the fictional storyline.
"(Adam West) will always be remembered for that role," he said.
Adam West passed away in Los Angeles on Friday after being treated briefly for leukaemia.
He was 88.
"Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight, and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans' lives. He was and always will be our hero," his family said in a statement.
