Top four teams record easy wins in senior comp
NETBALL: This week in the RNA Senior A Netball competition the cream rose to the top with all top four teams winning easily.
With only two rounds to go, the top teams have cemented their spots in the top four.
First-placed Brothers Crimson played Brothers Fuchsia. The Brothers Fuchsia team included a number of the QISSN winners from The Cathedral College.
However, these young girls were shown why the RNA Senior A competition is one of the strongest regional competitions in Queensland.
Crimson won the game 73 to 47 and took the opportunity to give young Anna Crow a run.
CQ Jetz beat the developing RGS Magic 60 to 35, which was a much-needed result for CQ Jetz after a poor showing last week against Frenchville Brumbies.
The game of the night, not so much for the result but for the demolishing performance, was Bluebirds Hawks against Bluebirds Eagles 76 to 26.
This game showed Bluebirds Hawks will certainly go into the finals as a favoured side on the back of some outstanding defence led by Kelsey Hitchman and strong mid-court movement by Julie Brydon.
The other match of the round was Frenchville Brumbies against Angels Titans. Frenchville won 64 to 24.
This was a good result for Frenchville as they easily covered the loss of mid-court player Katie Moger with regional Queensland’s most versatile player Kate Lang.
The team will prove lethal come finals time.
Lesley Smith – All Blacks WA: Very good movement around the court against towering defence.
Amber Toby – All Blacks GS: Very accurate shooting.
Tiere Levi – All Blacks GA: Miss Consistent across the court.
