AS A little girl, Hayley Elliott always looked forward to the Rockhampton Show.

Now with two small children of her own, the Rockhampton Show remains a firm favourite on the family calendar.

They were among the thousands who poured through the gates yesterday.

For the past month, Lucas and Kalen have been counting down the days to they can fill up on fairy floss, ferris wheel rides and carnival games.

Hayley said the pair had been asking whether it was time for the Show almost every time they got in the car.

When the family spoke to The Morning Bulletin, Lucas had already won big, snagging himself an Angry Birds toy.

But for Lucas it was the prized showbag that proved to be his favourite.

But the four-year-old was faced with a tough choice.

He had to choose between Batman and an army combat bag.
