Tourists in car-top flood rescue

TWO people were rescued from the roof of their vehicle which was submerged in flowing floodwaters near Gladstone last night.

About 11.30pm police found a man and woman on the roof and clinging to a small tree.

The car had driven into water on the Essendeen Bridge on Tablelands Road at Rosedale.

SES retrieved the pair in a boat and QAS transported them to Bundaberg.

The man and woman, both aged 26, are Korean nationals.

Neither is believed to have been injured.

Police are appealing for motorists in the Gladstone area to take care on water affected roads.
