Tradies needed to build a better life for Blaise

IPSWICH Swich On is looking for some generous tradies to help make brave young Blaise Wyatt's life so much easier and happier.

Blaise suffers from a severe form of Muscular Dystrophy and is constantly in need of funds to help his rehabilitation. He needs treatment that is only offered in Detroit with a rehabilitation device called the Therasuit.

"When we first met Dawn and Cameron (Blaise's parents) they talked a lot about their trips overseas but they also mentioned that getting their house up to scratch could help significantly in reducing the overseas trips," Swich On president Grant Lowe said.

"If they were able to build up certain facilities at their home, they could possibly cut down on these trips along with the added possibility of helping others in addition to Blaise at their own residence.

"That's when Swich On decided to shift our focus towards their house."

Jeremy Bruce and Peter Wilkinson from McNamara and Associates were the first to jump on board for the Swich on golf day with a significant contribution towards the idea.

That was ramped up even further when Josh Simon from Simon's Home Hardware came up with an offer.

Boosted by these major sponsors, $10,000 was raised for Blaise on the day.

"Simon's Home Hardware offered to supply material to 150% of the money raised to help redesign the Wyatt's house at cost, meaning that Blaise could get in the vicinity of $20,000 worth of retail materials," Mr Lowe said.

"Now all we need to do is find some builders, labourers and general maintenance people to jump on board and donate some time.

"We feel with a little bit of marketing and exposure we can get a lot achieved.

"If the labour can be supplied free in the form of a working bee or two over a couple of weekends perhaps then the real value of this original $10,000 could balloon up to $30,000 plus in value.
