UPDATE: FIGHTING for a cause they passionately support landed peace activist 'pilgrims' Simon Moyle, Greg Rolles and Simon Reeves in Rockhampton Magistrates Court this morning. 

 

The three men appeared on charges including trespassing on Commonwealth land, entering a defence installation with a photography apparatus and obstructing a Commonwealth public official in the performance of his duties after entering an area where military personnel were carrying out Talisman Sabre training yesterday. 

For one count of trespassing on Commonwealth land, Magistrate Cameron Press fined Reeves $500 and recorded a conviction.

Rolls was convicted and fined a total of $600 and ordered to forfeit a mobile phone and sim card to the crown for trespassing on Commonwealth land and entering a defence installation with a photography apparatus.

Moyle was convicted and fined a total of $900 and was ordered to forfeit a compass to the crown for trespassing on Commonwealth land and obstructing a Commonwealth public official in the performance of his duties. 

 

EARLIER: THREE men charged for trespassing after entering an area where military personnel were carrying out Talisman Sabre training have appeared in court this morning.

The three peace activist 'pilgrims', Simon Moyle, Greg Rolles and Simon Reeves, refused bail conditions yesterday and reappeared at Rockhampton Court this morning.

The Rockhampton Peace Convergence, of which the pilgrims are a part, held a procession, beginning at Havachat, 20 East St, Rockhampton to the Court House in support of the three men.

The procession will begin at at 9.30am.
