Troy confident in new bike store

TROY Mogg is so sure his new bike store will be a hit in Rockhampton, he’s moved his whole family to the city to run it.

Troy said he was excited about opening the new Giant Cycling World Rockhampton store and said he was glad to make the move from Brisbane.

“It’s a lot smaller than Brisbane,” Troy said.

“It’s a great place to bring up the kids, it’s a different opportunity.”

Having lived in Mackay previously, Troy said he was looking forward to Rockhampton’s warmer climate.

He said the new store would cater for all riders, from children who are just learning to professionals.

“We basically cater from just recreation to downhill cross country, to mountain bikes to triathletes,” Troy said.

Being a qualified mechanic himself and having hired another local mechanic to his staff, Troy said he was confident the shop would be able to handle any repairs thrown at them as well.

“We do repairs on all brands of bikes,” Troy said.

“We’ll pretty much always have the spare parts in stock.”

He said the store would also stock scooters.

“We have a high end of scooters,” Troy said.

“We have Madd Gear scooters and all the scooter accessories.”

The store’s grand opening is planned for the weekend of June 25-26 but Troy says he hopes the doors to the store on Musgrave St will open a few days earlier.
