POLICE will be closing the Dawson Highway at the Aldabaran Creek crossing, approximately 30 kilometres north of Rolleston due to a crash that occurred this morning.

The highway will be closed from 11.30am to allow heavy machinery to access the creek to retrieve a truck which left the road and went into the creek around 2 this morning.

The truck driver, a 52-year-old Emerald man was air lifted to Rockhampton Hospital for medical treatment.

It is expected the highway will be closed in both directions from 11.30 this morning and the road will remain closed to all traffic until around 1pm.
