Truck runs into power pole

THE Bruce Highway was closed 15 km south of Clairview last night after a B-Double truck ran into a power pole.

The incident occurred about 11.30pm.

Ergon energy crews assisted emergency services in the recovery of the driver and removed powerlines across the road.

Ergon's corporate communications manager, Bob Pleash, said power was interrupted for 253 Ergon customers in the St Lawrence/Clairview area.

Mr Pleash said Ergon crews travelled out to the scene again this morning to carry out repairs and replace the damaged pole.

One lane is now open to traffic.
