TV star plays a new series
FROM Summer Bay to Rockhampton, Bryce Ruthven has gone from small screen star to soccer star.
Before the 20-year-old signed on to play for the Capricorn Cougars this year he once spent three weeks on screen with the cast of Home and Away.
Bryce played the role of Aden’s cousin in the hit television series about two years ago.
He’s since stayed good friends with Todd Lasance (Aden Jefferies), Lincoln Lewis (Geoff Campbell) and David Roberts (Xavier Austin).
Bryce said the guest role was demanding and challenging, but gave him a real insight into what the industry is like.
There were also many late nights out partying in Sydney with Todd, Lincoln and David.
Despite concentrating on soccer in the meantime, Bryce said his dream career was to become an actor or television presenter.
“Soccer is my main priority at the moment, but if it doesn’t work out I will definitely keep pursuing acting,” he said. “I actually haven’t told my agent I’ve moved yet,” he joked.
Bryce has trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Aquinas College and was a semi-finalist in the 2009 Next New York Model Search.
He’s also played lead roles in a feature film and short film, played a patient on Channel 7’s All Saints and featured in a Nokia commercial.
Bryce has been in Rockhampton for three weeks and said he’s really been feeling the heat.
