Twilight star headed for coast

THE largest national pop-culture convention, Supanova, will hit the Gold Coast in April, delighting fantasy and sci-fi aficionados.

Twilight fans will be pleased to hear Peter Facinelli, otherwise known as the delicious blood-sucking father-figure Dr Carlisle Cullen, will be making an appearance alongside Oliver and James Phelps, made famous from their role as the Weasley twins in the epic Harry Potter franchise.

Thor fans will get a chance to meet the most distinguished warrior-maiden in all of Asgard, Jaimie Alexander, who plays Lady Sif and Lord of the Rings fans will meet Shane Rangi, famous for his work in the famous trilogy plus the Chronicles of Narnia series, Avatar, King Kong and X-Men: The Last Stand.

Cult classic Doctor Who will also be represented by Janet Fielding who plays companion Tegan Jovanka.

However, fans of the vampire series True Blood will be disappointed Nelsan Ellis, who plays Lafayette, will be held up in the production of the new series and won't make the trek down under.

Supanova hits the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre from April 20-22.

Tickets go on sale from FOXTIX on Friday for $27.50 for a Day Pass or $47.50 for a Weekend Pass.

Children 12 years and under are free with a paying adult.
