Two fined for tripping

ST GEORGE Illawarra forward Joel Thompson and Sydney Roosters playmaker Luke Keary have been fined for tripping in NRL matches on Saturday.

They attracted grade one charges, meaning a maximum $1500 penalty, Thompson for tripping Wests Tigers fullback James Tedesco in the Dragons' win and Keary for tripping Brisbane forward Alex Glenn.

Thompson's fine was upgraded to $2100 for two other different offences.

The match review committee also decided with Roosters winger Daniel Tupou should be fined for a grade-one careless high tackle on Matt Gillett.

Tupou, who also failed to finish the match after picking up a groin injury, will be fined $1500 if he takes an early guilty plea.
