One woman arrested after crashing car near Mt Larcom

WEDNESDAY 7AM: ONE of the two women involved in a single vehicle crash at Mount Larcom yesterday has been taken into police custody in relation to a possible stolen car.

Two women were travelling in the car when it crashed into a tree 500 metres south of Mount Larcom on the Bruce Highway near the Gladstone turn off around 5.10am yesterday morning.

One woman was trapped for a period of time and both were treated on the scene by paramedics before being transported to Gladstone Hospital in stable conditions.

Since that time, one woman has been flown to Brisbane for further treatment and the other has been taken into police custody at the hospital.

A spokesperson for the Queensland Police said its is believed the car had been stolen and further enquiries were being made into the circumstances surrounding the crash and the possible theft.

TUESDAY 7.43AM: TWO women are in hospital after a single vehicle crash at Mount Larcom this morning.

Just after 5am, the vehicle crashed in to the tree on the Bruce Highway.

One woman sustained a head injury with the other sustaining significant leg injuries.

Both were transported to Gladstone Hospital in stable conditions.
