Two injured as car towing van rolls

UPDATE 7am: TWO people in their 50s have been seriously injured after a car towing a caravan rolled while overtaking a truck near Clermont.

The 58 year old female driver and 61 year old male passenger, both from Victoria, were seriously injured in yesterday's accident and airlifted from the scene by the RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter departing at 3.45pm. 

The crash happened on the Gregory Development Road, 50km north west of Clermont, about 12.45pm.

The caravan was destroyed in the crash.

Both patients were transported to Mackay Base Hospital.
