Two killed in plane crash

TWO people were killed in light aircraft crash at Mundubbera about 7.40am today.

Police are currently at the scene at Mundubberra, about 300kms south west of Rockhampton.

Reports from witnesses suggest around 7.30am a single engine aircraft crashed shortly after taking off from Munduberra airfield.

It is believed the plane burst into flames after impacting with the ground adjacent to the airfield.

The two people who died were onboard the aircraft and died at the scene.

No further information is known at this stage. Police investigators are at the scene.
