Two fighting for life after separate crashes on Qld roads

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has sustained life-threatening abdominal injuries in a car crash in Brisbane that also injured three others.

The four were travelling at Wakerley about 12.30 this morning when their car left the road and crashed into a tree on New Cleveland Rd, police said.

A second male also received serious abdominal injuries, a third suffered a serious knee injury and a fourth sustained minor injuries.

All were taken to hospital.

Earlier a 26-year-old Queensland woman was involved in a three-vehicle pileup on the M1.

She is in a critical condition.

It's believed the woman's hatchback crashed into the back of a prime mover on the M1 at Helensvale about 8.20 on Monday night.

The impact caused her car to sideswipe a vehicle in the next lane before hitting a guardrail.
