Two stabbings on Friday night
IN just 15 minutes Rockhampton police were called to two separate alleged violent stabbings on the weekend.
Two victims, a man, 26, and a woman, 42, suffered stab wounds to the chest in altercations on Friday night.
A man was arrested and charged with unlawful wounding after one of the alleged attacks, but he was released on bail less than 12 hours later.
Police were first called to an Elwing Street address in North Rockhampton at 7.15pm after reports a woman had been stabbed. Police found a woman injured.
Just 15 minutes later, at 7.30pm, police attended a home in Campbell Street, Rockhampton.
A verbal argument erupted between two men at the front of the house. Police said a man, 29, stabbed a man, 26, in the chest.
Both victims were immediately rushed to hospital in a stable condition.
Their injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.
The 29-year-old alleged offender appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Saturday morning and was granted bail.
No one has been charged from the Elwing Street incident.
Police said the victim did not wish to make an official complaint. Investigations are continuing.
