Teens seriously injured in crash airlifted to Townsville

UPDATE THURSDAY 2.19PM: TWO boys aged 13 and 16, seriously injured in a crash yesterday, are being taken to Townsville University Hospital.

Both have head injuries but one was also treated for abdominal lacerations.

The 13-year-old was flown to Townsville before 10am today and the 16 year old was due to be transferred from Mackay Base Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctor Service this afternoon.

A Queensland Health spokeswoman said both were in a stable condition

INITIAL:TWO teenage boys are in a serious condition after a motorcycle and ATV crash at Alligator Creek, 30km south of Mackay.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman the crash occurred just after 4pm, and the boys were treated by paramedics, including a critical care team.

One of the teenagers has been treated for a head injury an a abdominal laceration, while the other has been treated for a head injury, she said.

They have been taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a serious condition.
